Discover White Mountains and Samaria Gorge from Above (from Chania)
Our day starts from the centre of Chania moving southwards to reach the big orange valley of Chania. In a few minutes we will be inside the valley moving southwest through orange trees and farming areas full of aromas and tastes. Surprises are always welcome there! Crossing the valley and a river with our premium off road vehicles, we move through Cretan villages and start climbing on altitude through an off-road route, with dense vegetation and the best panoramic view of Chania.
Reaching an altitude of 1000m our adrenaline will raise following an off-road route through the heart of the White Mountains, crossing the unknown shepherd’s paths and fill ourselves with fresh air, wild vegetation, livestock and breathtaking views. At the end of our adventure route we reach Kallergi Refugee at 1680m altitude above the sea level. The view is unique just above Samaria Gorge. Looking towards the south we have the view of the Libyan sea and around us the highest tops of White Mountains. From the balcony of Samaria we will be welcomed by the owner of the Refugee with a hot cup of mountain tea, and afterwards a Cretan lunch will be offered with plenty of wine and warm Cretan hospitality. Raki shots won’t be missing from our lunch break.
With a full appetite, a lot of photos and views we continue our off-road route for 5 kilometres in order to reach Omalos Plateau and Xiloskalo where is the entrance of Samaria Gorge. A quick stop for photos and then we follow the asphalt road to Chania. On the way back we pass by the beautiful and historical village of Lakkoi, where we stop for some photos and information about the village and then continue our route back to Chania full of memories, photos and amazing views. The trip is ideal for everyone who´s looking for an experience beyond the ordinary, youth groups, single or couple participants, families with older children, and companies.
